South Korea is traditionally recognized for the manufacture of exceptional paper, an art cultivated since the 7th century. A family still has this unique know-how in the world and grows mulberry trees that they head to recover the stems and bark. Their spring water and hollyhocks also grown on the property are the natural ingredients needed to make this hand-worked paper, made only once a year.

The work of a Paper Maker Master, officially a national treasure, supplier of the Blue House, official residence and office of the Presidency of South Korea, this “Hanji” paper entered the inventory of the Louvre Museum three years ago where it is used only for the preservation and maintenance of exceptional works (including drawings by Leonardo Da Vinci, by Raphael or Dürer), his outfit is guaranteed in century.

This exceptional paper, with light fibers, was not intended for photographic printing. It was necessary to create for 2 years, in collaboration with the Paper Maker Master and photographic printing specialists, to create a unique reproduction process to print these photographs while preserving the delicacy of the paper. Currently only a photographic laboratory is able to print these photos in the world.
